After serving his articles with Friedland Hart and Partners, spending two years compulsory military training as legal officer with the South African Medical Services and serving as professional assistant at Shapiro and Partners, he founded EY Stuart Attorneys on 1 April 1988.
Elmo is the Managing Director of EY Stuart Inc. and specialises in sectional title law, high court litigation, commercial law, trust law, administration of estates and family law.

Ona Nell specialises in conveyancing, notarial work and commercial matters. Ona joined the company on 1 February 2003. She completed her articles at Haasbroek & Boezaart during 1993 and was admitted as attorney, conveyancer and notary in the High Court at Pretoria on 15 February 1994.
Ona previously practised for her own account under the name and style of Ona Nell & Associates Incorporated before entering into an association agreement with EY Stuart Inc. in August 2002.
On 1 February 2003, Ona joined our professional team on a full-time basis. Ona and her dedicated team specialise in township developments, sectional title schemes, transfers, bond registrations and cancellations, and related conveyancing matters. Ona has served as a Director and shareholder of EY Stuart Inc. from 1 September 2006.

Bianca van Wyk obtained her LLB degree at the University of Pretoria in 2010 and commenced her articles in 2011 at Fourie Fismer Incorporated. Bianca was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of South Africa on 31 May 2013 and was subsequently appointed as a professional assistant and thereafter an associate, gaining valuable experience in general litigation (high court and magistrate’s court), child law, third party compensation law, contract law, legal costs and drafting. Bianca obtained her LLM degree in Mercantile law at the University of Pretoria in 2016. She was appointed at EY Stuart Inc. in October 2017 and now serves as Director and shareholder of EY Stuart Inc.
Bianca’s main interest is litigation, but she is also actively involved in our trust and estates department.

Hannelie Hattingh joined EY Stuart Inc. as a professional assistant in the conveyancing department in March 2015. Hannelie was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer of the North Gauteng High Court on 13 January 2011, after serving her articles with Greeff Attorneys.
Hannelie is an admitted notary public with over 10 years of valuable experience in the field of conveyancing and property related matters ranging from transfers (normal, estate, liquidation, sequestration and Tax Administration Act Transfers), sectional title, bond cancellations, servitudes, township establishment, opening of sectional scheme and Antenuptial Contracts. Hannelie has served as a Director of EY Stuart Inc. from 1 March 2022.

Kevin obtained his BA Law degree in 2017 and LLB degree in 2019 through the University of Pretoria. He completed his articles of clerkship at a corporate firm in 2021 and was admitted as a legal practitioner, to practice as an attorney, in March 2022. Kevin joined EY Stuart Inc. in May 2023 and has great interest in community schemes litigation and insolvency law matters.

Genine obtained her BA Law degree in 2021 and LLB degree in 2022 from the University of Northwest, Potchefstroom. Genine commenced her articles of clerkship at Malan and Nortjé Attorneys in January 2022 and was admitted as a legal practitioner on 3 September 2024.
Genine joined EY Stuart Inc. in May 2025 as a Junior Associate in the Litigation department.

Devan obtained his LLB degree from the University of South Africa in 2021. He commenced his articles of clerkship at Du Toit, Swanepoel, Steyn & Spruÿt in February 2022 and was admitted as a legal practitioner in May 2024.
In July 2025, Devan joined EY. Stuart Inc. as a Junior Associate. He has a strong interest in litigation and is passionate about developing his expertise in this area of law.
SUPPORT AND SUPPLEMENTARY STAFF COMPONENT
Tiana Wepener is our senior bookkeeper and practice manager and is the backbone in ensuring the smooth operation of EY STUART INC. Tiana joined our company in 1993.
We also have, on average, 3 to 4 candidate attorneys who are exposed to all facets of the law to ensure that they have sufficient familiarity to become respectable and well-educated professionals. They, in turn, assist the professional assistants to effectively serve our clients.
Our committed and experienced secretarial staff in both our litigation and conveyancing departments, our receptionist, filing clerks, messengers and cleaning staff all form an integral part in the smooth running of our daily business at EY STUART INC. As we believe in empowering people, we offer effective staff training and management to ensure that our personnel gain expertise in their diverse fields.
